Web service using TRichView?

We're exploring a possible new product (a specialized viewer and

information navigator designed for a particular industry). This

product will be able to operate either as a stand-alone program or by

accessing data from a web service we would provide. The data in

question would consist to a substantial degree of information from a

database used by a TDbRichView component. My guess is that I'll want

to simply transport individual databases from the web server to the

client computer, but I'll admit I haven't finished doing my homework

yet.

My current thought is to set up a local database, use it to drive a

viewer containing one or more TDbRichView components, and pass the

database to the client machine using SOAP objects. I'll be using

Delphi 6 (nice excuse to finally upgrade from 5 ;-).

Has anyone done anything remotely like this, and if so, would you be

willing to share your experiences? This path looks pretty reasonable

to me, but I'm treading on new terrain here, and would be grateful for

any advice others might have.
