font color going wrong

I have a dbrichviewedit working pretty well. I have plugged in the actions

and popup menu etc so I can edit the text and save it OK. I use the RVF

format into a binary blob field.

I can highlight text and bold it, I can (after manually adding a liststyle)

create a bullet list and have it render OK, but when I change some text to

red from the defaul black, the field seems to save with a corruption because

the text comes back in a DBRichView component as clear binary text in the

format:

-8 1 3

0 1 0 0 0 0

Think about:

8 1 0 0 0 0

Results

0 10 0 0 0 0

How do I make font color selectable without this corruption/triggereing

wrong formating?

PS I got the same outcome when first trying to create bullet lists. When I

added a liststyle it was fixed - do I have to add a default text style too

somewhere?
