You can see the same effect in TEdit and TMemo.

Add the following code in OnKeyPress

procedure TForm1.RichViewEdit1KeyPress(Sender: TObject; var Key: Char);

begin

  if (Key=#9) and ((GetKeyState(VK_CONTROL) and $8000)<>0)  then

    Key := #0;

end;
